Colors melt into dreams,
Suffusing life with
Experience never learned
But for a drink,
Taste,
Breathing it in and making it
Yours.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of chaperoning 15 preteens on an exchange trip to Mexico City. Before the trip, I had researched some of the surrealists, including Remedios Varo, and Leonora Carrington (as mentioned in Terri Windling's The Wood Wife). I decided to try my own hand at it and here's the result.
I don't consider myself a very good artist, but I have an obsession with drawing the eye (my father's influence).
And of course I just had to write a poem while I was there as well (I believe I wrote it in Cuernavaca).
Enjoy!
